Scientific Project Manager

Your job

You will endeavour solutions for the current challenges of sustainable animal health and livestock production: climate change, food security, environmental impact and drug resistance. You will do so by contributing to Kreavet’s contract research, project management and training services to public and private organisations. You will be in charge of the development of expert tools and services on sustainable parasite control in cattle. You are the company’s first employee and therefore will have a great influence on the growth trajectory of Kreavet.

About Kreavet

Kreavet was founded in 2017 to support companies, research/public institutions and professional organisations to meet today’s challenges in the field of animal health and sustainable livestock farming. Kreavet helps its clients to deliver, implement and disseminate their solutions faster by services in the field of Research & Development, Strategic collaborations and Training. It offers specific expertise in the field of veterinary parasitology, epidemiology and socio-economics of animal health.

Duties and responsibilities

  • You lead the research and development activities of a software package that supports veterinarians in establishing sustainable helminth monitoring and control practices on their client farms.
  • You interact both with developers, veterinary practitioners and professional organisations at national and international level.
  • You maintain and establish a veterinary client network.
  • You conduct scientific reviews, analyse data sets, and produce scientific reports.
  • You turn scientific results into decision trees and algorithms.
  • You are involved in Kreavet’s research and project management activities.
  • You contribute to the day-to-day management including administration as well as longer-term strategy of Kreavet.
  • You are available to travel and represent Kreavet in international meetings.
  • You stay up-to-date with recent developments in your scientific field.

Desired skills and experience

  • PhD in veterinary sciences or similar.
  • Strong interest and experience with decision support systems in animal health.
  • Proven experience with project writing and scientific reporting.
  • Relevant national and international network including partners from public and private sectors.
  • Experience with and capable of epidemiological and statistical analysis.
  • You are acquainted with economic assessments in animal health.
  • Pro-active communicator and good presenting skills.
  • Can manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Team-player, but capable of working independently and from home.
  • You are flexible and able to quickly shift priorities.
  • You speak fluently Dutch and English. Other languages are an asset.
