Hannah Mwangi

Hannah Mwangi has a strong multidisciplinary background in scientific research, focusing on zoonotic vectors responsible for transmitting diseases such as malaria, leishmaniasis, and schistosomiasis in Kenya. She has been actively involved in research projects with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), where she developed expertise in sustainability, ecology, and vector-borne diseases within the framework of a One Health Approach.Hannah pursued a Master of Science in Sustainable Development with a specialization in Ecology at KU Leuven, Belgium. Her master’s thesis explored “The distribution, infection status, and ecology of snail Intermediate hosts responsible for bovine and human diseases,” contributing valuable insights into human and animal well-being.

Hannah’s interdisciplinary background allows her to investigate disease transmission from multiple perspectives, examining how ecological changes influence outbreaks and seeking innovative, sustainable solutions. She brings a wealth of experience in data collection, laboratory analysis, research dissemination, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to support Kreavet’s activities in sustainable animal health projects.
